Stocks are starting higher on Wall Street Wednesday, led by industrial and technology businesses in early trading.

After gaining 23 percent Tuesday chipmaker Qualcomm is up another 17 percent when it settled a legal dispute. In a related move, Intel is pulling from the modem market. Its stocks are rising 2.4%.

T-Mobile and Sprint are equally lower on reports their merger is being questioned by the Justice Department.

IBM is 5% while United Continental consists of 4 percent and Netflix stocks are level among companies reporting quarterly results.

The S&P 500 index consists of 5 points, or 0.2 percent, to 2,912.

The Nasdaq is up 35 points, or 0.5%, to 8,044. On the other hand, the Dow Jones Industrial Average is down 21 points, or 0.1 percent, to 26,431.
